MASVINGO, (Lowveld Post)
-FORMER Masvingo United and Zimbabwe international defender, Costa Nhamoinesu, is preparing for life after football after his career in the Czech Republic drew to a conclusion.

The centreback (34) has parted ways with topflight side, Sparta Prague, after his contract was not renewed.

It brings the curtains down a career spanning seven years at the club from the capital city.

“Costa Nhamoinesu leaves Sparta after seven years with the club. His contract expired and is now free to look for a new club,” the club stated at the lapse of the player’s contract.

In response, on his Twitter handle, the former Warriors international who played nine matches this season, wrote, “A kiss for you my Sparta family. Till we meet again.”

Coincidentally, he celebrated his completion of a Diploma in Sports Management, obtained from the prestigious Johan Cryuff Institute.

This is an indication of his plans for after the ex-Masvingo United player retires.

“Congrats on winning the (Czech) Cup and winning academically. Special thanks to @CryuffInstitute,” he tweeted.

Nhamoinesu, who won four trophies with Sparta and recently clocked 200 appearances, played for Masvingo until 2008 when he moved to Polish lower-tier side, KS Wisla.

He then joined Zaglebie Lubin on a two-year loan deal before he made a permanent switch in 2010.

Nhamoinesu then joined Sparta in 2013.
